If this were Apocalyptica or Eden or even Kansas itself, if Mel and the babies were at the house with them, Sokka would have woken up in a dogpile of limbs and baby drool. But with Mel and her daughters off with Erin for some sisterly bonding, Sokka wakes up in a rock bunker made by yet another Toph that doesn't recognize him with five feet between himself and the other occupant of the room.
A glance at Steph and a smirk given for the tangled blonde hair hanging in her face, Sokka grins a little and gets to his feet. There's a pool outside that will do well enough for a mirror and he really needs a shave.

Except it was disturbed when the kraken reached out of the pool to try to mimic the shaving motions.
Now there's a Sokka flailing at the pool, and a kraken flailing at the Sokka, and altogether too much activity for this early in the morning.

And the other two can be alerted to his presence as he starts laughing at the both of them.

NOBODY GETS HIS BOOMERANG.
Spots looks a little sad about this, subsiding into the pool and looking pathetically at the older Sokka.

Though he does put his knife away, and the boomerang on his back stays right where it is.

This results in another 0_o face, similar to the icon.
"--you cut your hair!"
It's sort of like 'hello, nice to see you' in a way.

Sokka snorts, amused at the younger's reaction. It doesn't stop him from coming closer, though, peering into the pool thoughtfully and considering whether or not it'd be a good idea to try shaving and risking his weapons to the squid-thing.

Sokka's voice squeaks. Lots.
"You cut your wolftail off!?"

Sokka's staring at him, eyes wide and a little bit horrified.
"Oh. Well, uh. It's ... good to see you again, anyway. Alive, I mean. And not squid-eaten or anything. You're okay, right?"
no subject
The horror is starting to grate his nerves.
"How're you and Jack doing?"
no subject
His warrior's wolf-tail!
Although ... the younger Sokka thinks, touching his own shaggy sides and long ponytail ... it's not as if he looks the part of a Water Tribe warrior any more, dressed in Fire Nation gear and growing his sides out. So ... maybe it's okay.
Besides, hair grows.
Besides ... the older Sokka must have known what he was doing, because he's old and he's got scars and he's tough, and he's calm and stuff.
So it must be okay.
Sokka rubs his own wolftail thoughtfully. What would he look like without it?
"I don't think so. I got yelled at when I tried to suggest we eat it, so I think it's someone's pet. It hasn't hurt anyone yet." His voice is suspicious though.
"I'm good. I have a car and I'm learning to drive it!"
GLEE.

"A flying car."

In this moment, at least, it's very obvious that they are exactly the same person.

"...wait, she's your sister? I just assumed ..."

And laughs. Now would be a fabulous time to inform his younger counterpart who the real father of those babies is but... he doesn't want to break his brain. Not right now, anyway.
"Mel's my adopted sister," Sokka clarifies, grinning. "And Steph, before you ask, is a friend from the last world we were on."
no subject
Sokka thinks about this.
"...what sort of a friend? I mean ... a friend? She's pretty. Not as pretty as Claire, though," he adds loyally.

"Hey, I asked you first."

"She has pretty hair like your Steph's. Is that common? Sun-coloured hair? It's really ... it's really interesting."
no subject

"She came from another world too. I think she thinks I'm the weird one."
